Remarkables Ridge

Set into a steep ridgeline above Lake Wakatipu, Remarkables Ridge holds the landscape and lets it pass through. Schist drystone walls anchor the home into the slope while blackened larch wraps the upper volume.

Inside, the plan opens around a double-height living space framed by an exposed steel portal and a single, monolithic fireplace. Every aperture is composed — a window onto a peak, a wall of glass to the lake, a slot to the courtyard.

Built over fourteen months, the project required careful sequencing through two alpine winters. The result is a calm, durable home designed for a lifetime in the mountains.
