A high-performance modern chalet built to NZ Passive House standards. The blackened timber form is rigorously detailed for snow loading, with broad eaves and a continuous insulated envelope.
The interior is warm and tactile — oak floors, plastered walls, a central wood burner. Bedrooms tuck into the gable to maximise the living wing's sun exposure.
Built over twelve months on a tight constrained site, the chalet now serves as a year-round family base on the Cardrona slopes.
